Further developed model

Staircase on the right hand side is a very tricky one. It goes down first but goes up again before reaches another level.

A very unique ball shape stair. It is the continue sense of the vitality from the ground floor

One of the most exciting view for the building,it interprets the sense of movement and energy of the building.

interior of the basement, shows the place to display the artwork.

Draft plan for the building

reflection form both artists' work

Rosalie Gascoigne
This is one of her most famous artwork which made by those mostly found materials such as wood, paper boxes. I found that the text is an important elemtent for her work.In this piece of art work, she playful cut up and rearrange the letters. Those lettering found on these items to create abstract word fragments which shows her understanding of the words.one more point,Gascoigne's artwork are relatively suitable for being exhibited in the open space.
Fiona Hall

This is one of Fiona hall's delicate sculptures created out of aluminium sardine tins which is the recycled use of materials. From this piece of art works, the artist get the inspiration from the flora, but made the art work of recycled material which suggest the impact of humans upon the nature. Rather than using softer materials, the aluminium leaves set out the information of vitality, the plants grows out from the half opened sardine tins is the proved. Furthermore, I found that most of Hall's art work are small, so I decide to create smaller rooms for the exhibition comparing to Rosalie Gascoigne.

The start of the model

vitality(above ground); rearrange(below ground)

further developed of the below ground part(vitality; associative)

advantage:the basement do show the relation between two parts.

problems:boring developed, haven't change the above ground part.

The initial idea of the above ground.(vitality; associative)

what is good about this model: 1.It have the interesting shape for the above ground and already consider the exhibition space for displaying artist works.

problems in the model: 1.can not show the sense of the vitality from the spines.(PS:pull out the spines; the spine might be twined around the ball)

Texture will show on the model

ter wave?

might looks like pollen sac

Stairs designed for the model

This set of stairs had been playful placed on the slope which includes the display platform and interesting stairs.

Stairs on the left hand side: cut the normal staircase into half and adjust the height of each half which shows the rearrangement of the staircase.
Staircase on the right hand side:It gives another possibility for the appearance of the stairs

From this stair I tried to work out that staircase without the extra designed for handles.

Task 1

This model is inspired by the Australian national flower - wattle. Every three dimensional shape represents the bud of wattle which acts as the pollen sac. Design principles--Scale and pattern had been introduced into my project. The interlocking structure holding up the light in a interesting way which encourage us to explore the 3D space.

Crystal Tower, is one of the most challenging building scheme in the world which gonna located in Moscow designed by Foster + Partners. It is the mix of hotels, social service, shopping centre and inhabitant. Moreover, the sustainable theme have been perfectly intergrated into the project which inspired me that harmonious between human and enviroment should be the architectual destination.

This is the poster from the absolute vodka advertisement which suggest that the product is an stiff drink in a creative way. It attracted eyeballs with its suite of communications applications which inspired me the architectual work should be easily recognized form the outside.

Fiona Hall: vitality; grow; metallic

Tracey Moffatt: catastrophe; explode; tragic
