Overview of the final model

ABOVE: FIONA HALL - Vitality The Above Ground structure interprets the concept of Vitality,. From the overall shape, the movement from the roof of ground floor exhibition hall and spines jutting out from two crystal balls suggest the passion of the life. Furthermore, the staircase connect to the basement designed as a continuation of the life. This large structure is symbolic of the consideration of the the materials had been used of Fiona Hall's artworks, the exhibition used the light colour and glass window wall to project the artists work. The big window wall show the connection between the human and outside natural environment. The spiral stairs leading to the artist studio shows the energy and creativity as well.

BELOW: ROSALIE GASCOIGNE - rearrangement. The underground structure inspired by the Gascoigne's distinctive way of processing art work which the word rearrangement has been selected. Rearranging is one of the nature's primery method of craetion. Try putting the end in the middle, or the center on the top or inside out. This is the inspirarion Unlike the normal exhibition arrangement, large pieces of artworks have been placed on the floor or being hanging on the ceiling. while visitors want to enjoy the exhibition, they have to climb up to the stairs and look down to from the higher place or enjoy it by raising up the head to have a better view for artworks. Breaking through of the ordinary thinking, I post the texture on the wall rather than displaying artists' workStaircase coming down from the ceiling reverse our ordinary thinking. when we placing ourselves in this 'upside down' world, it reinforce the interaction between visitors and artist work. From most of her designs, she playful cut up and rearrange the letters, therefore I tend to rearrange the space for displaying the artist work. while I was processing the 3D model I paid attention to Rosalie Gascoigne's design principle that her design must opened to the weather. So I place one of her artwork at the point where can be seen from the ground floor.
